Major Mad Hatter

Nov 23, 2010

Tomorrow, the high temperature in my hometown is going to be -2 degrees.  It’s moments like this when I wish that I’d bought a ticket to Miami instead of traveling to the Wild West.  The warmth of hearth and home is decidedly less attractive when you have to wear long underwear just to go get the mail.

This is why, as you read this, I am on my way to buy gloves, a scarf and a hat.  Sadly, none of the hats at the general store will be as major as these ones.

1.  Aqua Jewel Cloche (Bloomingdale’s, $45)

2.  Finely Feathered Cloche (Anthropologie, $48)

3.  Bow Beret (Top Shop, $16)

4.  Faux Fur Knit Hat (Forever21, $13)

5.  See by Chloe Faux fur Cossack Hat (Outnet, $48)

Now I have to get a cloche. Dammit.

  2. Half-Pint says:

I also love the berry pink knit hat that Hermoine wears in the latest Harry Potter….I wonder if it's Burberry?

  3. KLo says:

I adore my cloche. I wonder if I can find a pin with fantastic feathers …

  4. Stephanie says:

KLo, I would check on Etsy! I'm sure there are tons.

  5. Rachel says:

    KLo,

    https://www.etsy.com/shop/hideyourfeathers

She can make anything with feathers and takes custom orders.

I like styles 1 & 2 because you can get your hair into them so it won't get flattened down so bad.

  7. Kim says:

Ooh thanks for the ideas to dress up my Chloe – it has this awful felt flower that belongs on a 6-year old's backpack!

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
