1. Butter London Gobsmacked Polish ($15) // 2. Acne Ava Silk Top ($320) // 3. Vincent Snakeskin Minaudiere ($250) // 4. Intermix Ombre Scarf ($298) // 5. Ray-Ban Aviators ($155) // 6. Reiss Adrienne Tweed Skirt ($180) // 7. Aurelie Biderman Lace Bracelet ($697) // 8. Mango Lurex Boucle Jacket ($120) // 9. Stella McCartney Yasmina Bralet ($90)

One. A friend has been looking for a graphite-colored nail polish with sparkles, and I think this is the best one I found.  Non-sparkly options include Ciate Vintage Polish, JinSoon Rhapsody and Essie Smokin Hot.

Two. This soft grey balloon sleeve blouse is right up my alley.  All I’d need is a navy pencil skirt and some snakeskin pumps to make the outfit complete.  For a similar look for less, try this balloon sleeve top from Asos or this grey blouse from Singer22.

Three. A pale pink clutch is on my spring wish list, and this Minkoff bag is certainly tempting.  Though this dark pink BCBG one is nice too (as is the price).  But I think this shell pink foldover for less-than-$50 is probably the winner.

Four. This ombre dyed scarf from Intermix is to die for.  The look can also be had for less, this scarf comes in pink and mint.  This scarf comes in a combo of salmon and khaki, while this Nordstrom scarf comes in white and grey.  But my favorite is the Lucky Brand scarf that comes in a navy ombre print.

Five. I somehow lost my aviators.  The case is in my purse, but the sunglasses aren’t.  Excellent.  This time, I think I’ll go for the amber lenses, but if you need something cheaper, try these classic aviators from Mango.

Six. Pale blue with a tapestry texture, this skirt is perfect for spring.  I also like this blue and white print jacquard print skirt from BR.

Seven. I’ve been coveting a lace bracelet for a while, but they are so pricey.  I did, however, find some similar options for under-$20.  This gold one from Torrid is nice, and this silver-tone medallion one is pretty too.

Eight. Boucle jackets are a good choice for the spring months.  This pale jacket from Mango is lovely, and I also like lurex jacket with moto details.  If you’re petite, try this charcoal jacket, and if you’re plus size, have a look at the chain detail on this fun jacket.

Nine. If you’re cleaning out your closet this spring, don’t forget your lingerie drawer.  This lacy bralette from Stella McCartney is super chic, as is this less expensive choice from Madewell.  And if you must have an underwire, try this Micro Lace Plunge Bra from Calvin Klein.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
