Tuesday Shoes-Day: 10 Amazing Fall Shoes

Sep 19, 2017

The best thing about fall fashion is the shoes — cool boots, gorgeous colors, unique textures.  A new pair of shoes spices up old outfits and basic pieces, giving them new life.  Here are 10 pairs of shoes that could liven up any wardrobe.

I posted these Ann Taylor pumps last week, but look at the gorgeousness?  The wine-colored velvet, the buckles, it’s the coolest Mary Jane anyone could imagine.

The Sam Edelman knotted-bow flats are professional enough to wear with skirts, but also great with trousers or jeans.

Leopard shoes are a wonderful accent to a basic wardrobe.  These Boden Carrie Mid-Heels have a chic wave accent.  If you’re looking for something a but simpler, try these Dune heels.

The leather-strap accents on these Louise et Cie booties are the perfect casual boot.

Pom-pom accents are a big trend for fall.  These faux-fur pom heels from Anthropologie are a fun way to dress up jeans or simple dresses.  I also love these Linea Paolo short heels with a black pom accent.

The buckle accents on this Naturalizer tall boot are just enough embellishment without overdoing it.  I also like the toffee color.  I’m also assured they’re unbelievably comfortable.

I had never considered flannel as a fabric for shoes, then I saw these Ann Taylor shoes.  With a d’Orsay shape and sleek piped  edges, this is a very sophisticated shoe, especially for flat.

These Steven toe-cap shoes are an elegant heel that bridges the gap between casual and professional.  I like them a little better than the round-toed Sam Edelman version.

These mules from BP. aren’t new for the season, but they added several new colors.  They’re still the best looking mule on the market.

Need an evening shoe?  These mink d’Orsay pumps with a velvet toe-cap are what you’re after.  They’re the perfect dressed up shoe, just special enough without being too over the top.

Those AT d’Orsay flats are so SO cute. Does anyone own AT flats in this style or otherwise? I haven’t shopped there in years and am curious about sizing and comfort.

If anyone has seen any other d’Orsay flats, I’d love to see them! That style is perfect for my injured, wide-front, narrow-heeled foot and not many designers seem to make them (aside from Shoes of Prey which was so uncomfortable).

I just bought these flats and they seem good, but haven’t worn them yet.

I’ve had those Naturalizer boots in black/wide calf. Super comfy, no break in time. Highly recommend,

Need styling help! What would you wear the tall boots with? It seems like ankle booties have become so popular that I don’t see many people wearing tall boots.

I agree! My cognac knee-high riding boots now feel outdated. I almost exclusively wore my taupe suede booties last year with the outfits I always would have worn the riding boots with previously.

    • Belle says:

I don’t think the tall boots have crossed into faux pas, though booties are more popular. I would wear them with skinny jeans or skirts.

Glad to hear, because booties just don’t work for my short legs and thick calves, so I’ve been sticking with knee high boots when wearing jeans in winter. I can pull off black booties with black tights and a dress, but that’s about it. I have had multiple pairs of naturalizer knee high, wide calf boots, and they are super comfortable for walking all day long!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
