Some Awful Solutions to the Sexual Assault Problem. (The WaPost)

The tables are turning on men who’ve used their power to harass, demean, and assault women.  At first, it was some slimy Hollywood people with a casting couch.  But as the number of exposed harassers grows to include a popular Senator, a well-known comedian, two popular morning show hosts, a much lauded actor, and other previously beloved personalities, the conversation about how to stop harassment and assault in the workplace is speeding to a dark place.

Some want zero-tolerance policies for harassment, but Fairygodboss explains why those policies will only hurt women.  Some want the ‘Pence Rule’ to reign; but preventing men from socializing with female coworkers will only hurt women.  And lost in the shuffle, are all the stories of women deterred from their career path by the harassment of men.

Undoing thousands of years of patriarchy is a messy business.  We all need to make sure we get it right.
