“It is an ironic habit of human beings to run faster when we have lost our way.” — Rollo May

Toned Up. What the tone of your voice should sound like during tricky work conversations.

In the Clutch. This metallic box clutch from Aqua is perfect for summer weddings.

The Honey Trap. Could your Tinder flirtation be with a paid impersonator?

Protect and Defend. Wear Sunscreen — Invisible Shield for face, Supergoop for body.

Armor Plated. How one woman’s “cartoonishly sexist” office changed the way she dressed for work.

Wrapped Up. Behold, summer travelers, the cozy $68 wrap cardigan that will keep you warm in planes, trains, and automobiles.

Mind the Gap. Asking about past salary fuels the gender pay gap; here’s how to fix it.

Do you have a favorite summer wine?  A rose or white or red that you just can’t wait to drink on a crisp June night while sitting outside?

For me the wine I love all summer long is the Isabel Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Rose.  It’s a darker rose that’s really crisp and zesty.  Plus, it’s $15.  You really can’t beat that.  Leave your wine suggestions in the comments!

Casal Garcia Vinho Verde. It’s in between a champagne and moscato (in my opinion) and super cheap.

  2. Jessica says:

The Armour Plated article is insane! It was interesting to read that and I immediately questioned what I would do in that position. Wow.

  3. Hanna says:

My go-to summer wine is Gerard Bertrand’s rose, cotes des roses. It has a nice flavour, not too sweet.
The bottle is beautiful AND it has a glass stopper, not a cork so it’s perfect for those spring picnics or sunsets on the Seine.
Now if only it would STAY warm here in Paris…

  4. Elizabeth says:

Pretty much any pinot noir rose. Haven’t found one I dislike yet.

  5. MK says:

The link to the Invisible Shield sunscreen isn’t working. What sunscreen is it? I’m dying to know what you recommend for the face, as I’m looking for a new face sunscreen!

  6. Eleanor says:

My favorite rose wine is from Josh Cellars – and I find it for $10 at Trader Joe’s. Goes perfectly with a charcuterie plate, baguette, and outdoor movie in the park!

  7. CLS says:

I love Fire Road Sauvignon Blanc. It has a hint of carbonation, or it may just be in my head. But it’s my go to, especially in the summer. Yum. Now I want to open a bottle and sit outside…

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
