The Best End of Summer Pieces at Old Navy

Aug 1, 2018

Old Navy, the home of $4 flip-flops and American flag tees, has become one of my go-to stops for inexpensive fashions.  A basic pair of khakis in a fun color, done.  A simple crossbody for a trip, done.  A swimsuit to round out the summer, also done.

The pieces feel fun, a little trendy, and affordable, but the quality is good enough that they won’t fall apart in the wash.  Here a few of their best current pieces.

Ruffle Trim Shirtdress ($38) also in plus

Simple enough for brunch, pretty enough for a date.  It’s the dress you’ll wear so often, you’ll be certain you’re wearing it too much.  You also probably won’t care.

Suede Moto Jacket ($54)

I really wanted this green moto jacket from the Anniversary Sale, but I somehow missed it until it was already gone.  This ‘meteorite’ jacket is a good sub.

Sueded D’Orsay Flats ($27)

Linen Wide Leg Pants ($25)

I wore linen pants on my trip to Cuba two years ago, and they were a total game changer.  Lightweight, comfortable, airy…if you have a vacation coming up, consider picking up a pair in one of their five basic colors.

Halter Underwire Top ($25)

I’m told this style is flattering on every body type.

Ziptop Faux Leather Crossbody ($29)

What did you pair the linen pants with? I’ve always struggled with how to style them so they don’t look like pajamas.

  2. I never think to look at Old Navy, but that dress has me glued to the website right now. I’ve been looking for a resort dress, but all the ones I’ve been seeing are $250+. Nice to know there are budget-friendly options 🙂

Did you find the linen pants wrinkled a lot? Linen pants would be perfect for my trip to Morocco, but they aren’t really something I’d wear often, so the Old Navy price is ideal.

I have the bikini pictured. I can vouch for its flattering nature. Love it.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
