The Range: Sale-Priced Flat Boots

Jan 7, 2019

Ankle boots have taken over, but I still wear flat boots with tights and pencil skirts.  If the boot is sleek enough, I even wear them around my office when I have to be up and down the stairs a few hundred times a day.  And what is better than finding those boots on sale?

Corner Office

Tory Burch Brooke Boot ($249)

Cubicle Farm

Cole Haan Harrington Boot ($149)

Front Desk

Tommy Hilfiger Knee High Tall Boot ($69)

Wide Calf

Calvin Klein Finley Boot ($129)

Oh, thank you for this. I wasn’t sure if tall boots were appropriate for the office any longer. I have wide calves, so I thought ankle boots would be perfect, but it turned out that they were pretty unflattering on my plus-sized silhouette. Plus tall boots are so much warmer!

    • Belle says:

I don’t wear them on big meeting or big hearing days. But keep them real sleek, keep the tights opaque, and I fell they kind of blend in. Though, word of note, they look a bit jarring with a suit.

  2. Em says:

I just invested in a pair of Frye flat knee high boots that were heavily discounted at Nordstrom Rack. Best gift I’ve ever given myself. I’ve started wearing them a couple times a week to the office on days we’re out of session and I couldn’t recommend the idea more.

  3. Liz says:

Cannot thank you enough for including a wide calf option!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
